We walk among the fingerprints of God,
we live our lives as if no end,
we destroy and renew all things needed,
and all along the wind blows with messages to send;
We walk among the fingerprints of God,
we dream the dreams needed to live,
we attempt to be all we can
while our callused eyes remain insensitive;
We walk among the fingerprints of God,
with our fellow peoples,
we love & have what is desired,
the people kneel and worship at the altar steeples;
We walk among the fingerprints of God,
for when one dies, as all do,
the whole is subtracted,
while the children are added to the new;
We walk among the fingerprints of God,
watching for the flight of the dove,
We walk among the fingerprints of God,
and when we leave only leave behind footprints of love.
